Mitsuaki Fujiwara

Mitsuaki Fujiwara is a photographer and filmmaker based in Tokyo.

For nearly two decades he has directed documentary films, working from the ice fields of Antarctica to villages across Asia and Africa, recording the lives lived in those places and the landscapes that hold them.

In recent years he has been showing photographic work in Japan and abroad.

Amid rapid environmental and social change, his interest lies with the people who go on living within it, and with the way they look out at the world.
